Help & Support

Everything you need to get the most out of Brain 2. Can't find what you're looking for? Drop us an email and we'll get back to you quickly.

Getting Started

Voice Capture

Hold any button on the Voice tab to start recording. Release to stop — Brain 2 transcribes your audio with OpenAI Whisper, parses it with AI, and sends a structured entry to your Notion database with the correct properties filled in automatically.

For longer recordings (50+ words), Brain 2 creates a full Notion page with a title and a formatted body including paragraphs, bullet points, and headings.

Tip: Speak naturally — you don't need to dictate field names. Just say “Add a task to call James tomorrow at 3pm” and the AI figures out the title, date, and status.

Text Capture

On the Text tab, tap any button to open a text input. Type your thought and tap Send. The AI processes text exactly the same way it handles voice — extracting titles, categories, dates, and more based on your button's field mapping.

You can also use the Preview option on any button to review and edit the transcription before it's sent to Notion.

Field Mapping

Each button controls how your Notion properties are filled. There are three modes:

From transcript
The AI reads your capture and decides the value. Great for titles, tags, categories, and dates.
Fixed value
Always set to a value you choose, e.g. Status: Inbox. Useful for routing captures to the right place automatically.
Skip
Leave the field empty. The Notion property won't be touched.

AI Enhancement Templates

Enable an AI template on any button to reformat longer captures before they reach Notion:

Bullet Points
Condenses your recording into a clean, scannable list.
Summary + Action Items
Extracts a concise summary and a list of next steps.
Clarify Thinking
Rewrites rambling thoughts into clear, structured prose.
Meeting Notes
Formats into decisions made, action items, and follow-ups.

Special Words

If Whisper consistently misspells names, brand names, or industry terms you use often, add them to Settings → Special Words. The transcription engine will prioritise these spellings, making your captures more accurate without extra effort.

Plans & Pricing

Brain 2 is free to try. You get full Pro access for your first week, then 3 captures per week on the free tier. Upgrade to Brain 2 Pro ($2.99 USD/month) for unlimited captures, billed through the Apple App Store.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period. Manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Frequently Asked Questions

My capture didn't appear in Notion — what happened?
Check three things: (1) Is your Notion connection still active in Settings? Try disconnecting and reconnecting. (2) Was the target database shared with Brain 2 when you authorised the integration? You may need to reconnect and grant access to additional databases. (3) Open the History tab — failed captures show an error message with more detail.
The transcription keeps getting a word wrong.
Add the word to Settings → Special Words. This is especially helpful for proper nouns, product names, and technical terms. Also try speaking slightly slower and avoiding recordings under 2 seconds.
How do I change which Notion database a button sends to?
In Edit Mode (tap the pencil icon in the top right), tap a button to open its settings. You can change the target database, field mapping, name, icon, and colour from there.
How do I reorder my capture buttons?
Enter Edit Mode (pencil icon), then long-press a button to pick it up. Tap another button to swap positions, or tap an empty slot to move it there.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Go to Settings → Delete Account to permanently remove your account and all associated data. You can also email privacy@brain-2.app and we'll handle it for you within 30 days.
Does Brain 2 work without a Notion account?
Yes — Brain 2 buttons can be set to save captures locally (Brain 2 storage) without any Notion connection. You can review captures in the History tab.
Is my voice data stored or used to train AI?
No. Voice recordings are sent to OpenAI Whisper for transcription and deleted from our servers immediately after processing. We do not store audio files or use your content to train AI models.
